About the Cover

Cover Figure

The cover depicts a false colour transmission electron micrograph of a neuro-endocrine cell in the human duodenum. The large round nucleus is partly seen at right, coloured green. The cytoplasm (blue) contains a cluster of cytoplasmic granules (small red bodies). Neuroendocrine cells are found in the epithelium of the gut. In the forthcoming review on Hedgehog signalling, King et al. discuss the role of Hedgehog signalling on gut development.
