1. Gonadotrophins were extracted from urine by adsorption on kaolin and their behaviour on ion-exchange materials was examined.
2. Anionic resins in a borate form, and diethylaminoethyl cellulose removed inactive material from these extracts with no loss of gonadotrophic activity.
3. It is recommended that these methods be introduced into the routine kaolin extraction procedure instead of the method employing tricalcium phosphate, the use of which may cause losses of active material.
